Solid Wood Building Elements and Glulam Beams for Superstructures

The Solid Timber Construction System utilises Solid Wood Building elements made from Parallel Laminated Timber (PLT). These panels feature rebates on both sides to facilitate easy connections in vertical applications. The panels are designed to work in conjunction with Glulam beams, which serve as wall plates and top beams. Additionally, these Glulam beams function as ring beams and opening lintels, providing structural support and stability.

The sustainable construction system is designed to be both smart and efficient, incorporating sustainable and reusable materials to minimise environmental impact.

It’s BIM-compatible, which means it integrates seamlessly with Building Information Modeling for precise construction planning. The system also offers fast-track construction, utilising the “Lego principle” to build structures 10-15 times faster than traditional block and brick methods.

The Benefits of Solid Timber Construction

The prefabricated design reduces waste by minimising cold bridges and trash on-site. It’s also highly flexible, allowing for easy adaptation and changes during construction. Additionally, the extended internal temperature change cycle, which lasts up to 12 hours, helps maintain a stable and comfortable indoor environment, which is especially beneficial for people with allergies, respiratory issues, or skin problems. This combination of efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability makes our construction system a smart choice for modern building projects.

Natural Breathing

Solid timber structures allow for easy temperature control and maintain a healthy indoor environment.

Durability

Wood fibre insulation is rigid, easy to install or re-install, and can be completely recycled at the end of its life.

Environmentally Friendly

We use self-drilling stainless steel screws, avoiding glue and chemicals, which minimises environmental impact.

Sustainability

Solid timber construction relies on sustainable materials and construction methods, reducing transportation needs and site waste.

Reduced Site Trash

Prefabrication means fewer construction errors and less waste.

Healthier Living

Timber buildings are ideal for those with allergies, respiratory, or skin problems.

Fire Resistance

Solid timber structures resist fire longer than steel structures, providing a safer environment.

Areas of Solid Timber Application

Solid timber has a wide range of applications, making it a versatile solution for various types of construction projects.

Single and Multiple-Family
Houses

Ideal for residential construction, providing a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional building methods.

House Extensions and
Added Stories

Offers a flexible approach to expanding existing homes without significant structural modifications.

Commercial, Office, and Industrial Buildings

Suitable for constructing offices, warehouses, and other business facilities, combining strength and aesthetics.

Modular and Temporary Buildings

Perfect for modular construction, allowing for quick assembly, easy relocation, and flexible design.

Hybrid Constructions

Can be combined with massive stone and traditional timber frameworks to create unique and innovative structures.

Did you know that the wood production process has a negative balance of CO2 emissions?

This means that the wood production process releases less CO2 into the environment than it absorbs or removes. The result is a net positive impact on the environment, with the production of wood acting as a natural carbon sink. Achieving this negative CO2 balance is a crucial aspect of a climate change mitigation strategy, as it helps reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions and supports sustainable building practices. This feature underscores the eco-friendly nature of solid timber and other wood-based construction materials.
