Meet iDomus in Action

iDomus participates in Ireland’s leading architectural and construction exhibitions, showcasing our Solid Timber systems at trade shows such as Architecture Expo, Construction Summit, SelfBuild Live, and the Ideal Home Show. At these events, you can visit our life-size Solid Timber stand to see our materials and systems up close. Our founder, Dainius, often gives expert talks, offering insights on timber construction and eco-friendly building solutions. We also collaborate with the University of Galway and ATU Sligo, sharing knowledge and innovations with the academic community.

The iDomus "Wood Only Envelope"

Natural, Sustainable Construction

The iDomus Wood Only Envelope is our signature building system, designed with 100% natural materials. This system uses a combination of solid timber and GL beams for the superstructure, with Woodfibre insulation and natural timber cladding for the ventilated façade.

What Are the Benefits of the iDomus Wood Only Envelope?

The Wood Only Envelope system creates naturally breathing buildings, which allow for easy temperature control and enhance indoor air quality. The combination of solid timber and wood-fibre insulation ensures the structure performs well, offering superior thermal efficiency while being easy to install and reuse.

One of the standout features of this system is its recyclability. At the end of its life, the structure can be completely recycled, leaving no harmful waste behind. The system can meet any thermal performance standard, including the Passive House standard. For instance, a 100mm glulam superstructure combined with 200mm of Woodfibre insulation achieves a U-value of 0.15, with a thermal conductivity of 0.037.
